Our Team

Founders

Roger Courville and Scott Driscoll met at the company that literally invented web meeting professional services, Envoyglobal.com. Envoyglobal.com later merged with PlaceWare Web Conferencing, becoming PlaceWare's "Event Services Division," and their business model for providing professional event services was copied industry-wide.

In 2003, PlaceWare was acquired by Microsoft for $200 million, and that same "ESD" group lives on providing services as the services division of Microsoft Office Live Meeting. After Microsoft, Scott and Roger were part of the founding team of Corvent, a web conferencing services company providing professional services and proprietary technologies for the web seminar industry.

Scott and Roger formed 1080 Group to serve companies who have chosen to produce their own marketing and training web seminars.

Our Team

Our professional team are some of the best in the industry, and all have significant, real-world experience.

Claire Demarest, Associate Coach

Claire was literally the third web seminar producer ever (anywhere!), and she went on to manage teams responsible for hundreds of clients, thousands of events, and more than a million attendees while at Envoy Global, PlaceWare, and Microsoft. She is truly an expert in hiring the right talent and getting them up to speed for a set of corporate tasks. Claire now devotes her time to sharing her expertise through coaching, training, and staffing consulting (when she's not working on her new equine massage business!).

Jenny Davis, Marketing Writer and Consultant

Jenny brings nearly ten years of writing and marketing expertise to the table. She got her start in web conferencing in 1999, working alongside Roger Courville, Scott Driscoll and other industry pioneers. Jenny knows how important it is for each client to retain control over their destiny, because she has worked on both sides of the table. Jenny has been a client and an agency account manager. She has consulted and written content for companies in diverse industries like UV curing, real-time operating systems and virtualization technology, chocolates and truffles, biodiesel, and open adoption. When working with 1080 Group, Jenny helps clients crystallize their message, with the audience and the medium in mind.

Kimberli Gilbert, Associate Coach

A multi-year industry veteran, Kimberli spent several years at Webex where she was instrumental in helping companies change how they do business. Now her own professional services firm specializes in management of online meetings, events, and training programs, and in the production of multi-media archives of those live events. When working with 1080 Group, Kimberli teaches 'do-it-self' clients to maximize their own efforts using the 1080 Framework.

Patrick Collins, Technology Consultant

Patrick is a leading expert in web-based registration systems. He has been part of designing and building several visionary, leading-edge systems at Envoy Global, PlaceWare, Microsoft, and Corvent. Patrick also brings to the table a significant understanding of general media pre- and post-production knowledge for web-based seminars.
